With plenty of parking and easy access The Moat House has "the space", that you'd expect from an 1800's Georgian Villa, that lends itself so well to wheelchair users. To the rear of the house there is a large, tranquil, wheelchair friendly courtyard style garden with ramps, patios, gazebo, "Sensory Garden" and covered BBQ area with outdoor tables and chairs - The ideal place to relax and unwind.

The Moat House and grounds are built on the moat bank of a 12th Century "Motte & Bailey" castle, the original home of the 'De Brus' family, the ancestors of 'Robert the Bruce' (king of Scotland 1306-1329) who was featured in the film 'Braveheart'. Early residents of the house also included James Grahame, a famous Scottish poet, who is believed to have written the classic poem "The Sabbath" whilst staying here.

* Why do we say "The Best" - Well in the opinion of all of our guests so far we have had nothing less than a 5* rating for our features and facilities. The Moat House is spacious throughout, luxurious, characterful, in a great location and has a superlative level of disability facilities which are constantly reviewed and upgraded. Also we haven't seen anywhere else with all the amenities we offer.
